On the Zhabai river (the Ishim river basin), at the north-western border of the Akmola region, there is Balkashino village. From the regional center of Kokshetau it can be reached by bus or any car.
The village was founded by peasant migrants during the campaign of the Russian Empire to develop virgin lands beyond the Urals. So in 1877, Balkashino was born. The land, rich in forests and fertile black earth gave an opportunity to engage in sowing agriculture and raising cattle. Inhabitants of the village smake bread in the old fashioned way, grow vegetables and feed cows, gilt, chicken for an ecologically pure product.

In the forest-steppe landscape of Balkhashino amazing natural monuments can be found: Lake Kudimkol, the militia springs, Kabany (it does not freeze even in the winter frost), the forest ponds Zineevyevka and Novonikolskoe.
