You can organize hiking trips lasting from 1 to 10 days, different categories of complexity. The maximum number of people in a group is 8. You can rent equipment (tents, backpacks, sleeping bags), as well as a horse to transport goods and products.
The best place to hike for 2-3 days is Lake Zhasylkol. It was formed many years ago, when the river was blocked by a landslide. The lake is located in the mountains at an altitude of about 1600 meters, it is easy to get to it in 1 day. The next day you can go back or continue your hike. How to get there
From Almaty to Ust-Kamenogorsk the best way to get there is by train from Almaty to Semipalatinsk to Zhangiz Tobe station, and from there by taxi to Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The Almaty-Semipalatinsk train leaves Almaty 2 every day at 19:50 and arrives at Zhangiz Tobe station at 11:28 a.m. the next day.
The train departs from Almaty station1 to Novosibirsk at 13:30 a.m. and arrives at Zhangiz Tobe station at 8:17 a.m. the next day.
Zhangiz Tobe - Ust-Kamenogorsk
There are taxis to Ust-Kamenogorsk at Zhangiz Tobe station, or you can take a bus.
Ust-Kamenogorsk - Ridder
From Ust-Kamenogorsk you can take a taxi (travel time 1 hour 30 minutes) to Ridder or take a bus (travel time 3 hours), departing from the bus station every hour.
You can plan and order a trip to Dzungarskiy Alatau through the Information Resource Center of Ecotourism in advance.
